You may know that Rescue Outreach Mission receives approximately 25% of our funding from the government and 75% of its funding from the community. Community support comes from businesses, foundations, and individuals. We also count on support from Faith Communities.

Our founding began with a faith community, the Rescue Church of God. In 1986, Mother Blanche Bell Weaver, Pastor of the Rescue Church of God, saw desperate people in her community living without basic essentials. With the support of her church and members, she was determined to help those in need. Mother Weaver founded Rescue Outreach Mission to provide safety, support, and a healing environment for her community.

Through their early efforts, many additional faith communities helped with the work of the Rescue Mission. Individuals who had nowhere else to go found refuge and hope at the mission.

Today, Rescue Outreach Mission is a partnership of the entire community.

The mission is still the only emergency shelter in the county and provides a vital service to those most in need. Once again, faith communities are critical to provide volunteers and financial support.

The team at Rescue Outreach Mission developed 12 different ways a faith community can assist the Rescue Outreach Mission. Many of the 12 items listed cost nothing, from prayer to taking a tour of the Rescue Outreach Mission.

Please look over the list and see how your faith community can assist the Mission and, in turn, those who are in desperate need of help.
