C.J. came to Rescue Outreach Mission in August after living in his truck and on the street for 2 years. When his truck was towed, CJ had nowhere else to go but to emergency shelter. Soon after arriving, ROM case management arranged for him to get transportation to the impound lot so he could get his clothes and important documents from the truck. With these in hand, CJ was able to secure a job at a local restaurant and start moving forward. Thanks to meeting with case management weekly, this guest was also able to receive a donated bike in order to get to work and back. Throughout his stay, CJ was able to have a safe place to sleep, bathe, eat, and rest when not at work. This guest worked hard and saved his money until he was ready to move forward with housing. Case management connected CJ with a local landlord, and he was able to move into his own studio. When asked about his experience at ROM, CJ said, "I'm grateful to Rescue Outreach Mission because they helped me in really the lowest point in my life."

Yvonne came to ROM seeking shelter after living in hotels for months. She was a young veteran who was attending college online, full-time. While at ROM, Yvonne was able to secure employment at a local business to help increase her monthly income. After just one week in shelter, Yvonne was approved for a room-for-rent and moved into her new home that same week. With help from St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, she received a “starting over bin” to help her with the essentials in her new home.
